I opted for tongue and groove 3/4" plywood for the floor. Each piece needed to be
custom tapped in to place to make for a tight fit.
I had a local welder make a bunch of T plates for securing the beams to the posts.
I got lucky in that there was a truss business across the valley.They were able to make
and engineered truss system that allowed the attic to not use scissors trusses, and also allowed
the interior space of the main floor to be full clear span. This option meant that interior walls
could be placed at random, while still offering extra structural integrity. I wanted to option
to move walls in the future without having to concern myself with walls that would not be allowed
to move at a later date.
